Monticello School District Receives Grant
Monticello School District announces that it has received a grant from the Monticello Excellence in Education Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. to support Tech Services. Under the supervision of Technology Services Coordinator, Emily Love, high school students earn credit for their work at the tech desk. Students learn to fix both hardware and software issues, complete forms concerning repairs and inventory and acquire customer service skills. They take the knowledge they learn at the Tech Desk into the classroom assisting teachers and peers in dealing with technology issues.
The funds provided by the Monticello Excellence in Education Fund are used to provide an accolade to those students who choose to work at the Tech Desk. The funds also provide incentives for Middle and High School students to keep their devices in good shape both physically and virtually.
The Monticello Excellence in Education Fund provides private support to the Monticello School District for programming that falls outside of the district budget. Grants from the Fund enhance education programs, offer extended educational opportunities, encourage innovation and recognize the achievements of students and staff.
