Recess
Recess is an important part of the elementary day, allowing students to take a break and "get the wiggles out"." Our new playground equipment installed in the summer of 2015 provides endless opportunities for children to develop gross motor skills and coordination while having fun with friends. The playground is also a great place to learn how to get along with others while playing games with rules and engaging in creative play.
Elementary students live up to their Pony Promise to be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE and SAFE while enjoying fun on the playground.
Playground Build
Dreams Of Fun Come True - Summer 2015
Our beautiful new play equipment may have seemed to spring up overnight, but this was a project that took many years of hard work to become a reality. Beth Collins spearheaded the efforts of the Pony Playground Committee in 2011 to raise funds and awareness that the old equipment was in need of replacement. A dedicated group of parents, encouraged by their children’s eagerness for the playground improvements, raised funds, researched options and ultimately worked with the Board of Education to make it happen. Money raised by the group, along with funds committed through the recent referendum, turned dreams into reality.
Thirty-one adults and eight students transformed the playground over three hot days in July.
Thanks to all who helped and to our supportive community! This play equipment will make happy recesses for many years to come!
