Monticello High School High School Clubs and Activities
Art Club is an organization that is open to any student who enjoys art. We keep ourselves busy by helping out with special community art projects such as repainting the map on the playground, and putting pony prints on the sidewalks around school. We have also had the opportunity to travel to the Latino Arts Festival in Milwaukee where we learned about The Day Of The Dead. It is our goal to take an art trip each year so that our members will get to experience art in museums around the Midwest.

Our High School Band performs more advanced music than any program in our conference. We play the same level music as upper bands in Division ‘I’ schools and achieve the same or better results. We are the only group in conference that performs at a Class A level as a Band earning consistent ‘I’ ratings for many years. We have had numerous Band trips which add an experience and challenge not only to the students, but for director as well. These provide experiences and challenges at the highest level, and can serve as substitute for a family vacation at a reasonable cost. Recent trips have been to Florida, New York, Memphis and Nashville. We do perform a number of times on these trips as well as having a college clinician critique us at each destination.

The Monticello High School Chorus participates in the WSMA large group and solo-ensemble events. Opportunities for performances are at the two required concerts during the school year, and at various other school and community events. Students usually do a performing trip in December. A trip to see a performance during the school year is scheduled when appropriate. The Fireside in Ft. Atkinson is a common venue for watching performances of live musicals, and also performances at the Overture Center have been attended. Students enjoy the opportunity for an educational and socially enriching experience, learning a variety of appropriate repertoire.

The Monticello Spanish Club consists of over 40 members who take a Spanish class in high school and pay their annual dues. Each year we participate in several cultural events and field trips to experience Spanish culture firsthand. Students are also afforded the opportunity to travel abroad to a Spanish-speaking country every 2 years. These experiences enable students to expand their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture in fun and dynamic ways. Check out the link below to see what's in store for club members in 2016-17!

The goal of Monticello FBLA is to prepare students for future careers in the business world by giving them hands on learning opportunities. Students have the opportunity to attend Fall Leadership Labs, Regional and State Leadership competitions, to take field trips to explore businesses, and to participate in a number of community service opportunities. We encourage any student that is looking to be a leader, interested in business, or simply interested in networking opportunities to become a member of FBLA.

The Monticello FCCLA chapters' program of work is threefold:
-
to provide service,
-
develop leadership skills
-
have fun together as a chapter.
We are involved in a variety of service activities. Our FCCLA chapters support our local food pantry, Green Cares with a variety of food drives and fundraisers, shop for the Monticello Stocking Fund, provide a senior citizen meal, and deliver May Baskets to local senior citizens. Leadership skills are built and refined by taking on the challenge of a chapter, regional or state office, competing in STAR Events or attending a regional, state or national conference. Fun activities are planned for FCCLA week and CTSO week and throughout the year such as a dodge ball tournament, mini lock-in, roller skating, bowling and a day at a Wisconsin Dells water park. We have two chapters; a middle school chapter for grades 6 -8 and a high school chapter for students in grade 9-12.
