🎉In honor of National School Counseling Week, we're giving a huge shout out to our very own Mrs. Cregan!

ℹ️ You may know this role by its more familiar name—guidance counselor—but in the Monticello School District, it’s been thoughtfully split into two roles: School Counselor, Mrs. Cregan, and School Advisor, Ms. Wahl.

💙We share the obituary for Elise Constantini, who served our school district with dedication as Vice President of the School Board. Elise's commitment to our students and community made a lasting impact that we will carry forward. Above all, she was a devoted mother to Tyler, Kalyn, and Trenton—her love for them evident in everything she did. We will miss her presence, her leadership, and the care she brought to every decision.

🌹Services will be held Thursday, February 5th at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, with a gathering from 3:00-6:00 p.m., followed by a time of remembrance at 6:00 p.m. and a celebration of life at the Pink Heifer at 6:30 p.m.

🫶Our thoughts and prayers are with Tyler, Kalyn, and Trenton, and all who knew and loved Elise.

🧠HS psychology completed a creative thought marshmallow tower activity. The goal=build the tallest tower using problem solving, spaghetti noodles, tape, and yarn that will support a marshmallow. 🏆The winners=Brooke & Sylena with a 29 in. tower! #ponyproud

🐶Green County Humane Society brought Oliver and Bear to visit HS students during Flex and Focus. These two are looking for their forever home🏠. They are both 3 month old male husky mixes.

🎉The 8th grade won 2nd quarter's MS Read the Genres War by one book! The reading war is now tied! Mythology🧜‍♂️and realistic fiction were 2nd quarter's top genres. 👏Congrats 8th graders!

Last Friday, the students in Mr. York's 8th grade health class hosted an incredible Health Fair in the Collab Lab. Each group chose a specific unit topic from the semester and worked hard together to bring it to life. Every booth featured creative visuals and accurate information along with a hands on activity and a takeaway item for visitors to keep. The students also gave professional presentations to explain their research and answer questions. They did a fantastic job educating our school community on these important health topics! #ponyproud

👑Spanish Club enjoyed a celebration for 3 Kings Day. They ate some Rosca de Reyes, played pin the crown on the king, and decorated crowns. #ponyproud

☺️We’re happy to announce that the Monticello School District was awarded a Grants 4 Schools award from Active Youth Wisconsin.

🏓This grant allowed us to purchase a new table tennis table, along with new paddles and balls. We’ve been using two older tables for a while, but this addition finally gives us enough equipment to officially add table tennis to our PE curriculum. It’s been great seeing the students get more active and involved with the new gear.

✨The funding for these grants comes from community donations and the annual Birdie Derby race held in Fitchburg every Thanksgiving.

Mirielle has been working the entire semester on completing a replica of a Westslope Cutthroat Trout (and finally finished). She completed everything from eye installation, fin fitting and installation, airbrush painting and fastening it to the driftwood. It is on display in the display case outside of Mr. Indergand's classroom door.
