Fridays are our teacher planning and prep days! While our 4K friends are off enjoying their weekend, we’re busy behind the scenes getting our classroom ready for another week of learning through play. 💛
We change up our centers and create new invitations for our students to explore:

☕️ Pony Brew Crew is officially brewing up something special! ☕️
We kicked off our year by serving up “Cups of Ambition” to our amazing teachers in celebration of Dolly Parton Day! 💕☕️
A little coffee, a lot of smiles, and plenty of 9 to 5 hustle! 🎶💪

🥰A huge THANK YOU to the Lions Club for donating $1,000 towards our school supplies for our students and 10, 8 foot tables that we use at our school events and are available to the Monticello community for garage sales, graduations, etc...

One of our favorite days of the year! We explored apples with our senses, talked about how they grow, and worked together to make our very own homemade applesauce. ❤️

🌱FFA Members competed at the Green County Land Judging Contest today.
In first grade, we are learning about meters! Students got to conduct in a meter of 2 & 4 with light up batons in the dark!🎵
🏫The school districts of Albany & Monticello are presently partnered in multiple athletic activities. Both districts will continue to add to those cooperative programs in education-based athletic opportunities in the future. Collectively decided, the new mascot/logo for any Albany-Monticello athletic program is the "Space Stallions."

With Cheese Days🧀 being this weekend, elementary music students will be learning about some Swiss instruments and Swiss music🎵!
Though it was warm and sunny when we celebrated Back to School and snapped this staff picture, there's something about this cooler weather that puts us in the school mood. 🏫🥰
You can see it on every face... This group is ready to go for the 2026-27 school year. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing, dedicated staff at Monticello.💙🐎

📅School board meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the high school collaboration lab.
✨ A scribble is just a masterpiece waiting to be discovered! 🎨
In 4K, we’re learning that art doesn’t have to be perfect, stay inside the lines, or even look like something to be beautiful. Sometimes a few swirls, squiggles, and colorful scribbles are all it takes to create something amazing! 🖍️💛
Because when you’re little, a scribble isn’t “just a scribble”… it’s creativity, imagination, confidence, and a little piece of childhood on paper. 🌈✨
And honestly… we think those scribbles are pretty wonderful. 🥰
