4K Open House: Tuesday, April 25, 2023
We are SO EXCITED for our open house and enrollment for our 4K Program! We are offering a full-day option for parents which means even more time for our youngest Ponies to experience things like music, science, STEAM, projects, and play! To kick things off we are hosting a district-wide open house on Tuesday, April 25th. Parents and future 4K students can visit the Monticello 4K Classroom and see what school is all about. (And… pssst…..we even have some cool swag for our future Ponies to take home!) The 4K Open House runs from 5:00-6:30, and we’d love for you to register ahead of the event, just so we have an estimate of how many people will be attending and so every new child can receive a shirt!

Whether you're new to the school system or a seasoned veteran with several school-age children, there's a lot to know about 4K. It's an exciting time as your child begins his or her school career, and you might be excited or a little sad or maybe even nervous about this milestone. Don't worry! All of those feelings are normal!
We're here to smooth the process and give you as much information as possible to prepare for the big day.
What do I need to know about 4k?
· Your child must be 4 years old on Sept. 1, 2023, to attend 4K for the 2023-24 school year.
· Our 4K program is 4 days a week. (Monday-Thursday)
· You can choose between full-day and half-day 4K.
· The half-day option will take place in the morning.
· The half-day option parents will need to pick up at 11:00 am.
· 4K is fun! Children learn the basics that prepare them for full-day kindergarten.
How do I enroll my child in 4K?
Enrollment is an easy process that just involves a lot of forms. Please call Mrs. Denise Swanson at 608-938-2700 to start the process. We'll also have enrollment papers available during the 4K Open House on April 25th.
What will my child learn in 4K?
4K is preparation for full-day kindergarten. Class content is based on the social and emotional readiness of your child, so you can expect your child to gain skills in sharing, following directions, playing with others, taking turns, solving conflicts and making friends.
